AiOP 2017: SENSE Artist Resource Meeting

AiOP 2016 Artist Resource 6

On Wednesday June 14th, AiOP 2017 artists and staff met up at El Museo del Barrio to talk about the upcoming festival, SENSE.  For many artists, this was the first time they were able to meet the AiOP curators and staff in person.  It was also their first introductions to the other festival artists and their projects, as well as a chance for everyone to socialize and enjoy some light refreshments during this informative gathering.

The artist resource meeting in many ways is the kickoff to the festival, as we discussed the works, the artists, and what to expect in the coming weeks and months leading up to October.  As the festival draws closer, each artist will work hard to put together their pieces, refine their projects, and figure out new and exciting directions for how they will adapt their installation and/or performance to 14th Street.  In the meantime, be sure to check back on the AiOP blog over the course of the summer as we post more about the festival, artists, our staff, and other AiOP related endeavors!

AiOP would like to thank each and every person who came out to the Wednesday meeting, as well as extend a special thanks El Museo for providing us access to their space for this wonderful event!
