A Sig Sauer rifle is melted down into 49 individual liberty bells. These bells will be given away for free in the format of a liberty booth. A liberty booth is a means of recruitment for the NRA’s Women’s League: “the Ring of Freedom.” A Sig Sauer was the rifle used during the Orlando Massacre to kill 49 victims.

Stephanie Mercedes is a Argentine/American performance artist who studied at Smith College and was a recent fellow at the NYC Art + Law Program. Stephanie has performed in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Rio, Mexico City, New York, and Geneva. Her first solo show in the US will be this February.
