IVAN RIASCOS

Migration

Visitors will experience an outdoor sound installation, where speakers will play various bird calls of known migratory birds to inhabit Florida wilderness seasonally, symbolizing Orlando as a migratory and touristic city.  Orlando, Florida is currently the largest tourist destination in the world, drawing millions yearly.  This artwork denotes the similarities of human and avian migration to the region; using a variety of bird tones will make visitors aware of things not always visible by drawing attention to the wildlife often overlooked. Recordings are by permission from the Macaulay Library, Cornell University.
