Stulen uses AiOP: Indianapolis as a forum for the community to explore and react to the significance of the word “Hoosier.” Responses to the question, “What does the word Hoosier mean to you?” will be documented on video during the two-day event. These responses will then be posted to a blog that functions as a space for communal dialogue.
Josh Stulen received a BFA in Sculpture from St Cloud State University in 2009 and is currently an MFA Candidate in Studio Practice at California College of the Arts. The predominant focus of Stulen’s artistic practice is faith and failure. Using performance, site-specific events, and sculptural interventions, he explores the ways in which our ideologies are co-opted into social forms. Stulen has exhibited at The Lumberyard (Marfa, TX), Sports Basement (San Francisco, CA), Art of This (Minneapolis, MN), and The Soap Factory (Minneapolis, MN). He is currently an artist in residence at Cranium Corporation, initiating the educational seminar Sunday School in collaboration with curator Angel Rafael Vázquez-Concepción.joshstulen.wordpress.com
