Presenting visual and performance art in unexpected public spaces.

Un-Space Ground

Looking for a little glimpse into what to expect on 14th Street?

Here’s a look back at Un-Space Ground: a site-specific outdoor visual & performance art event curated and produced by Art in Odd Places founder and director Ed Woodham and L.A curator Deborah Oliver. Un-Space Ground  was part of ARTspace’s “Art in the Public Realm” Symposia, held on February 25, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the College Arts Association’s 100th Conference.

“There are vast barren spaces in our urban and suburban environments that go largely unnoticed: empty lots, asphalt deserts, concrete caverns, and paved territories beneath overpasses in the periphery of our collective gaze, where pedestrians rarely venture. These spaces are the open terrain we call ‘Un-Space Ground,’ which beckon for enlivened activity in this time of occupation,” said Oliver and Woodham on the event.

See for yourself, and don’t forget to look out for Art in Odd Places on 14th Street this October!
